What we heard

The brief

A letters-only mark for a personal brand and portfolio that can also carry future apps and products. It should feel precise, warm, inventive and quietly confident, in the friendly rounded spirit of Relaydesk, Kiln and Ralli.

Success: unmistakably an m, recognisable at 16 px, works in one colour and reversed, scales from a GitHub avatar to a product family.

Final design

Soft mi

One thick rounded stroke writes the m; its last leg wears the i's dot, so the mark reads 'mi', and the Ember dot becomes the signature.

  • Letters only: an m that reads at a glance, even at 16 px
  • The dot is the one ownable detail, reusable as bullets, loaders and accents
  • Rounded monoline is warm and human; exact arcs and a 60-degree z keep it precise
  • A parent mark: product names sit beside it without a redesign
